Every breed is pre-disposed to certain health conditions. Ethical and preservation breeders work with their dogs over many generations to eliminate these health conditions while simultaneously improving the conformation of the breed and maintaining its original function. This cannot be done all at once! It is both a science and an art to balance these factors out. If you have questions about why your breeder has bred a certain pair, just ask! If they are breeding for the right reasons, they will always take the time to explain how they are working with their dogs' pedigrees to produce high quality dogs, one generation at a time. Remember: there is no such thing as a PERFECT dog! Nature and genetics can be fickle at times!
